  • 1st DAY:We will pick you up from Chania airport. After accommodation and information session we will have lunch together. Early in the evening a trip to the beach and / or the nearby villages. In the village of Gavalochori there are water cisterns from the Venetian times and a small ethnographic museum. We will have light evening meal outdoors at the village kafenion.
  • 2nd DAY:Tour to Chania after breakfast. A visit to the market hall, where we buy some seafood for future cooking. We´ll nibble some local delicacies at the market hall tavern. Free time to get to have a walk in the old town of Chania, with its Venetian time architecture and monuments and the small fancy boutiques on its narrow streets. The old town is located next to the market hall. On the way back we will pick some fennel and other aromatic herbs needed for cooking the fruits of the sea for dinner. We will be back at the afternoon and after a short siesta we´ll assemble to cook our dinner and enjoy our fishes.
  • 3rd DAY: After breakfast we´ll make a short walk in the village (about 1,5-2 hours). We tell You the stories about the village, about the people, about the animals, nature and about life. Afterwards a tour to the beach. Rendezvous at kafeneon after siesta with a cup of Greek coffee or «malotira», herbal tea. We´ll walk to a local shepherd for fresh milk needed in cheese making next day. Dinner together at the tavern.
  • 4th DAY:A tour to Cretan culture and natural cosmetics. We will drive to Argiroupolis Springs and continue our way up to the ancient village of Lappa, where from you may get authentic avocado cosmetics. We continue up to the high plateau of Sfakia, where a Danish woman, Janina, makes her living with her Cretan husband, gathering up wild plants and herbs and extracting etheric oils out of them. We will enjoy a light lunch at Janina’s unique herbal coffee shop on the Kallikrates high plateau. Back at Vamos around 15.30 pm. Evening free or optional symposium.
  • 5th DAY: A walk at the coast, on slopes and hills to pick wild grasses, herbs and even sea shells. Be equipped with walking (sport) shoes, a hat and a swimming suit. on the beach. A short break at Vamos, possibility to take part at Cretan Symposium.
  • 6th DAY: Day off.
  • 7th DAY: We will make a trip to the town of Rethymno, where we will have a tour in the Old Town, visiting the traditional old fillo making bakery, tasting wines and buying souvenirs. On the way back we will stop to have a swimming break depending on the weather conditions. At the evening we shall have our farewell dinner or symposium.
  • 8th DAY:After breakfast we will depart to the international airport of Chania.
  • Option Symposium: We shall include Cretan Symposium in the schedule. Symposium is a warm acquaintance to the Cretan way of living. The event lasts for about 5,5 hours, in the course of which the participants will be guided by a philosopher to the Cretan way of thinking, roll pies, prepare dolmades (wine leaves filled with rice, meat/spices), and natural cosmetics. Depending on the season the participants will have the chance to participate in seasonal activities, for example in autumn picking up of grapes. Meal is served and eaten at long tables, accompanied by music and dancing. Depending on the season it will be held either day time or evening time.

*Transportation by minibuses is included in the price. Accommodation will take place, according to preferences in singles, doubles or triples i (+ an extra bed )in traditionally renovated/built apartments at Vamos village. Accommodation is included in the price, as well as seven meals including Symposio, two snacks and breakfast (7 times) mentioned in the schedule. Guiding will be in English / Greek.
